Program of Continued Learning and Growth for Those Who Companion the Bereaved.
This workshop offers insights and strategies for grief companions to guide the bereaved in reclaiming clarity and building the resiliency needed to endure their grief journey during uncertain times.
In this two-day workshop participants will: explore the definitions of ambiguous loss, disenfranchised grief, and anticipatory loss in the context of Covid and unsettling times; learn strategies to empower the bereaved, and engage them in meaningful activities that assist in processing their grief and finding meaning; gain an understanding of common ways the bereaved sabotage their healing and approaches to companion them through sabotage; and Identify ways to respond compassionately with ourselves as we companion others during uncertain times.
Recommended for counselors, support group facilitators, chaplains, social workers, hospice workers, funeral home employees, teachers, nurses, physicians, friends, and family members.
